Canal 100 Tuesday
By: Bruno Romani | July 28th, 2008And today, another match from the 70’s beautifully captured by the lens of Canal 100. The year is 1976. The place is Maracana. The match is Fluminense and Corinthians for the semifinal of Campeonato Brasileiro. This match is known as “invasao corintiana” (Corinthians’s fans invasion) because the supporters of Corinthians were able to put 70 thousand fans in the stadium playing away from home. Supposedly, Fluminense was the home team. With the massive support, Corinthians was able to beat a much more skilled squad of Fluminense conducted by legendary midfielder Roberto Rivellino (and in this video, his mustache is just cool). Corinthians advanced in the penalties to later lose in the final against Inter-RS.
