

Brazilian Stadiums Set for a Makeover by 2014 (+pics)

Bruno is away for the week and I’ll be holding down the fort until he gets back. I was looking around and found the perfect thing to write about – the 2014 World Cup. FIFA should make its decision later this year, with Brazil being the sole candidate. FIFA inspectors traveled around Brazil all week and have said that they are “impresses with Brazil’s commitment” and also like the fact that president Lula isvery enthusiastic about the game and bringing the Cup to Brazil. If the Cup is to behosted by Brazil, would it be just to hold the finals anywhere but the Maracanã? I think not. The home of Brazilian football in Rio de Janeiro, that once held 200,000 in the 1950 World Cup, is set to relive its glory days. Here is how the stadium will
