CBF Did It Again: The Mishandling of Brazilian Football
By: Bruno Romani | June 25th, 2007
The mishandling of Brazilian football, specially the clubs, by CBF is notorious, but it seems every year they put effort into messing it up.
The unattractive Pan-American games in Rio have been scheduled for about 2 years. As everybody with a little knowledge about soccer in Brazil is aware of, Rio de Janeiro has only 1 stadium for Flamengo, Fluminense and Botafogo matches, the Maracanã. Everybody except CBF. Due to an overlap in schedules, matches of the Campeonato Brasileiro involving clubs from Rio had to be postponed, messing up the table. Now, if the fans really want to find out the real positions, they have to look up at percentages, play with math and explore different perspectives.
Wouldn’t be easier just to schedule matches away for the carioca clubs during this stupid Pan-American games?
High-Five, CBF!
