If Your Club Was a Band, Who Would It Be?
By: Bruno Romani | June 3rd, 2008Brazilian magazine Placar came up with a very funny list based on Brazilian clubs. Check it out:
Corinthians = Michael Jackson: One of the most popular in history. Got involved in scandals, changed color and now kindly looks at little children like Lulinha and Dentinho.
Palmeiras = Aerosmith: It has been on the road for a long time, but only hit the charts when gets into a partnership.
São Paulo = Queen: It has been the best of the world many times, but its fans must bear the jokes about how the band is a gay thing.
Santos = The Beatles: In the 60’s, it was the biggest thing on Earth, and today it still is remembered by the hits of 40 years ago.
Vasco = Oasis: Band of unquestionable quality and importance. Everybody wants to like it after taking a listen, but the image of its leader “Euricão Gallagher” makes people sick.
Internacional = Led Zeppelin: It ruled in the 70’s and died in the 80’s. Its leaders managed to get back together in the 00’s for a memorable world tour.
Atlético-MG = Raul Seixas: Even thought it’s not a huge star, it managed to be popular in its country. Its fans love so much the club that are called crazy.
Grêmio = Sepultura: One of Brazil’s most successful exports. But in a land of samba, many came to think that it is too rough.
Fluminense = Titãs: Charming and cool band. In Brazil, many love them. The problem is that nobody never heard of them outside Brazilian borders.
Botafogo = Rolling Stones: It would’ve been the biggest band of the world in the 60’s if bigger rival did not exist. Garrincha was its “Satisfaction.” Lately, it found the road to success again and it has been pretty happy about it.
Cruzeiro = Paralamas do Sucesso: In South America, it is a top seller. But when it appears on festivals with European bands, it looks small.
Flamengo = Jorge Ben: It has not produced a big hit in many years, but it amazingly remains popular and never goes away.
São Caetano = Milli Vanilli: When it appeared, it was huge. But then everybody noticed it was fake.
What about you, dear reader? Tell me in the comments box who your club, or your rival, would be and why.
