Still on the job, Dunga Announces the Players for the Next Round of the WC Qualifying

By: Bruno Romani | August 22nd, 2008

9 players who went to the Olympics. And the first appearance of Flamengo’s leftback Juan. Hopefully, this was the last time Dunga calls players. However, to not be completely unfair, where is Kaka? As usual, the player who belongs to Jesus cannot play. Could he just change his citizenship?

Goalkeeers:
Júlio César (Internazionale-ITA)
Renan (Internacional)

Sidebacks:
Maicon (Internazionale-ITA)
Rafinha (Schalke 04-ALE)
Kléber (Santos)
Juan (Flamengo)

Defenders:
Lúcio (Bayern de Munique-ALE)
Juan (Roma-ITA)
Alex Silva (São Paulo)
Luisão (Benfica-POR)

Midfielders:
Gilberto Silva (Panathinaikos-GRE)
Josué (Wolfsburg-ALE)
Lucas (Liverpool-ING)
Elano (Manchester City-ING)
Anderson (Manchester United-ING)
Diego (Werder Bremen-ALE)
Julio Baptista (Roma-ITA)
Ronaldinho (Milan-ITA)

Forwards:
Robinho (Real Madrid-ESP)
Luis Fabiano (Sevilla-ESP)
Rafael Sobis (Bétis-ESP)
Jô (Manchester City-ING)

Why Anderson? Why Diego? Why Gilberto Silva? Why Dunga? Why? Why you never learn your lesson??

Again the same old, out of shape, tired midfield. So what happened in the Olympics was just bad luck! Somehow the same players are going to change in a months time and show something different. Players like Gilberto Silva, Luis Fabiano, Julio Baptista, Maicon etc are going to help the olympic team to perform better in the qualifying games. Is this not going backwards? Brazil has no hopes of doing anything in the next world cup if they don’t realize that they have to build a team around Kaka and Robinho. This team is just a group of under performing overrated future stars and out of shape once-has-been-stars without Kaka and Robinho. Please get a new coach!

Cronyism… an old time selection process that never works. Dunga have nine lives and the last one is in Chlie. If Brazil looses convincingly then the magets would not be able help DUNGA…so wait and see the outcome on 9 September.

How if Brazil wins? So Dunga will still be Brazil coach? Till when? Until Brazil lost their perfect World Cup qualification record? Or until Brazil humiliated again in World Cup 2010? Please save Brazil before it’s too late…
