Weekend in Red and Black
By: Bruno Romani | July 6th, 2008Having red and black in the kit meant victory this weekend. Starting with Flamengo on Saturday. The leaders received Naútico at home and in 20 minutes, the locals had a 2-0 advantage. In the second-half, Kléberson, the one who one the 02 with Brazil, scored the third. It was his best match at Flamengo ever. In Recife, Sport, in good red and black, woke up from the orgasm post Copa do Brasil and beat Cruzeiro 1-0. In Curitiba, Santos remained in the relegation zone after losing to the local team, red and black Atlético-PR. Santos lost 1-0 and seats in the relegation zone. Coach Cuca has not won yet.
On Sunday, more red and black. Vitória visited Portuguesa and scored the 4th victory of red and blacks on the weekend. Dinei scored the first goal with just 9 seconds, and the match ended 2-1. With the victory, Vitória reached the top 4.
Inter-RS does not have black, but it is full of red. And the net of Coritiba got full of goals. Alex, the conductor of Inter in the season, pulled a hat trick. The third one was a jewel.
The only team with red and black in the kit to disappoint was São Paulo (true that they also have white). The tricolor received Ipatinga and draw 1-1. The highlight of the night was the tough argument on the pitch between São Paulo’s Alex Silva and Zé Luis.
Botafogo stopped Grêmio with 2-0, in the first match after midfielder Roger left the tricolor gaúcho. Roberto Dinamite, new president of Vasco, also had a bad debut. Figueirense came back to score 2-1.
Finally, Atlético-MG tied at home (again) with Palmeiras in 1 goal. And goalie Marcos saved the visitors by denying a penalty in the first-half.
Now, it must suck to be Fluminense right now. The club that was dreaming with Japan until Wednesday woke up in Goiânia. Goiás, one of the weakest sides of the league, won 1-0. And Flu remains in the last position in the league.
