Copa Sulamericana: The End for Brazil!
By: Bruno Romani | October 25th, 2007On Wednesday Brazilian clubs said good-bye to Copa Sulamericana. In two very different fashions. In Rio, there was extra water on the pitch in the match between Vasco and América-MEX. In Bogotá, there was no air in the match between Millionarios and São Paulo.
In Rio, Romário was on the bench. As the coach. And Vasco scored 1 -0 early on the match through Leandro Amaral. In the meantime, São Paulo suffered with a disconnected midfield. The club shot on goal only twice. If the club from São Paulo had half of the chances Vasco created, its fans would be a little happier.
The second-half started with coach Romário sending forward Romário to the pitch. And São Paulo was breathless. And showing no interest in qualifying the semifinals. On the other hand, Vasco, whose year has not been very productive, wanted to advance. But the ball refused to visit América’s net for the second time.
In Colombia, the locals scored the first. And the second. São Paulo was out. Vasco put pressure and died one goal away from the penalties.
Brazil remains virgin in this tournament. When will the culture of the country change?

It gets more difficult when all the teams are mostly focused on Brasileirao… (Vasco should actually be more focused on Copa Sulamericana)
