Corinthians and its Half(full)Ass Season
By: Bruno Romani | April 27th, 2007Corinthians played at the Pacaembu last night the second leg of the round of 16 for the Copa do Brasil against Naútico, and manage to get eliminated. With goals by Vagner Rosa and Acosta the timbú eliminated Corinthians in the first game of new coach Paulo César Carpegiani. The fans got furious, some invaded the pitch, producing the ridiculous image bellow:
Look at the faces of the other fans!
Corinthians’ first semester is over. But this ass will echo a little more. Pacaembu will get shut down once again, something not new for the stadium that received that game between Corinthians and River Plate for last year’s Copa Libertadores.

Lyon was recently linked with Eduardo Ratinho in the French press. According to them, his transfer fee may be waived because Corinthians still haven’t paid for Nilmar.
Any news on this?
And how is Nilmar doing? I have a huge soft spot for him, and I was sad to see his time at Lyon turn out the way it did, and even sadder to see his back luck continue at Corinthians, with his injuries and management disputes. What’s going to happen to him?

Inara,
Ratinho started his career well, but given corinthians’ never ending crises, his football seems to have faded away.the nilmar thing is a big telenovela. almost every week he or his agents say he will no longer stay with corinthians,or they give deadlines for corinthians officials to pay either him or lyon. at the end, however, nothing happens, and he ends up staying. it’s a very strange situation, but that’s what happens when you have money coming from shady sources and non-professional officials.
