For Corinthians, Second Division is Like Strolling in the Park
By: Bruno Romani | May 26th, 20083 Rounds later and finally this blog will have a word on Corinthians’ participation in the second division of Brazilian football. If in 2007 the season was an endless hell, this year is like strolling in the park. Corinthians is the only club with 9 points in 3 matches. And every match seems like a big party, especially due to the fact that the club is visiting parts of Brazil where premium football rarely shows up. It is as if the timão took a year off to tour the country.
Not that the club is playing refined football, but Mano Menezes is doing a great job in bringing back a side that fights for the victory. Last Saturday, Corinthians resisted the pressure of ABC, who played at home, and got a 1-0 victory. If everything goes as expected, Corinthians can pack back to first division.
This is not to mention that the club may end up in the final of Copa do Brasil in a year supposed to be very tough. Yeah, Corinthians. Enjoy the stroll.
