Inter Fires Coach and Corinthians is back to the relegation zone
By: Bruno Romani | August 10th, 2007Abel Braga is back to Inter. Just 4 months after leaving the club, the coach was hired to replace Alexandre Gallo, who took the job when Braga left. Braga, who took Inter to the titles of the Copa Libertadores and the Club World Cup, will already be ahead of Inter this Sunday against Goiás.
Alexandre Gallo was being criticized for his work and leaves Inter with 8 wins, 3 draws and 9 losses. Gallo won the Recopa Sulamericana against Pachuca.
Results
Just so that it doesn’t go unnoticed: the four remaining matches of the 18th round were:
Vasco 2 x 0 Corinthians
With goals by Wagner Diniz and Enilton, Vasco moved to the third spot and sends Corinthians back to the relegation zone.
Grêmio 3 x 0 América – RN
In Porto Alegre, the 2 worst attacks of the tournament faced each other. Better for Grêmio who saw Tuta score not one, but two goals. The third one came through Kelly (Is this a girl’s name or what?)
Santos 2 x 0 Paraná
Santos wins the third game in a row. Marcos Aurélio and Kléber Pereira (the one who played in Mexico) both scored again. Santos moves to the 7th spot and is just 2 points away from Cruzeiro, the 4th. Paraná did not win for the 5th match in a row.
Palmeiras 1 x 1 Inter
With one minute into the match, Valdívia opened the score. But Palmeiras repeated once more a poor performance playing at home and allowed Inter to tie through Alex in a free-kick in the final minutes. Palmeiras players are already saying that they believe they can do a good tournament only with the matches they play away.
