More Boredom: Copa Sulamericana in its Early Stages

By: Bruno Romani | August 23rd, 2007

More action for Copa Sulamericana (yes, the name is in portuguese. Don’t preach me on how to say it…) this Wednesday. But I didn’t spend much time on it. I just know that:

 - Whenever Corinthians hears that it is playing an international competition, it loses. Even if they face another Brazilian side, as it was the case tonight. For the first-leg of the “Brazilian stage” of the cup, the black and white team visited Botafogo in Rio. The locals killed Corinthians with a 3-1. Reinaldo, Lucio Flavio e Andre Lima, playing his last game for Botafogo before his transfer for a German club, scored for Botafogo. Dentinho scored the honor goal for the visitors.

 - The B team of Cruzeiro received Goias an won by 1-0. That wasn’t enough, given that in the first-leg Goias scored a 2-0. Thiago Heleno scored the lonely goal. More details, go and check Cruzeiro’s blog here on the Offside. I’m sure AJ can discuss more properly about Cruzeiro’s participation in the Sulamericana.
