                                      SPFC x Chelsea

São Paulo and Chelsea played this Sunday the final of the Dallas Cup, the U-19 tournament that is considered by some in the Brazilian press as a youth club world cup. Independent of the status of the tournament the young tricolor imitated the professional squad of 2005, and won the cup against an English team by the score of 1-0.

Thiago scored the goal that granted São Paulo its second title in the Dallas Cup. The first was won in 1995, coincidently two years after São Paulo’s victory over Milan for the Intercontinental Cup.

The Brazilian club reached the finals after a 4-0 victory over Real Madrid in the semifinals, and Tigres – MEX (2-1), Eintracht Frankfurt – GER (4-3) and Shamrock Rovers FC – IRE (6 -1) in the group stage. São Paulo also had the best forward, Thiago, and the best defender, Aislan, of the tournament.
