The 8th Week of the Brasileiro Has Started
By: Bruno Romani | June 29th, 2007The 8th round of the Brasileiro started this thursday. CBF decided to arrange the schedule around the match of the national squad, so 2 matches took place thursday night whereas the rest will happen on saturday.
Sao Paulo visited Figueirense in Florianopolis surrounded by the rumors that one of its players may be gay. The target of the rumors, Richarlysson, was on the pitch after claiming to sue a Palmeiras official for affirming on a TV show that the number 20 is gay. Despite all that, Sao Paulo played better than the home team, but wasn’t able to visit the net. End of the match, 0-0.
In Recife, the local derby agaisnt relegation between Sport and Nautico took place. The former played a much better game and destroyed the rival by 4-1. With the result, Sport leaves the relegation zone at least until tomorrow. Santos replaced Sport in the relegation zone.
