Brazil 4 x 2 USA
By: Bruno Romani | September 9th, 2007
I’m officially away from this blog, but couldn’t resist dropping a few words about the friendly between Brazil and US in Chicago. Ronaldinho, Kaka and Robinho put good performances from the beginning to the end. The team was fast and determined to win, as if not belonging to Copa America’s winner roster shaked from within two of the best players in the world. Too bad that this afternoon the fourth man in charge of attacking the Americans was Afonso “I Will Never Score.” Luis Fabiano and Ricardo Oliveira, where are you?
On the other hand, the defensive sector missed the formation with 3 defensive midfielders used in Copa America. The team gave too much space for the Americans, and the sidebacks had to work more than usual on the defensive part. Despite the weak rival, this was one of the best matches of Brazil in the Dunga era. The title gave more confidence to the coach and forced the topstars to put some heart in their game. But please, can Doni just go away?

Afonso “I will never score” i the best definition of that player I have read so far.
Mine is Afonso “even my grandma could have scored”

USA deserved to win they showed more heart in this match, and Robinho is a diving P.O.S. did you see that? every chance he got he was stiff arming our players in the face, he was to me a bad sportsman.

daryl, grow up — how did the USA “deserve” to win this game? Clint Dempsey said “they were the better team.” The US put in a decent performance and I had my own criticisms of Brazil’s performance (Dunga’s strange insistence on including the utterly unimpressive Afonso, for one — and Doni does not inspire confidence) but please. The team with the more skilled attacking play was obviously Brazil, any objective viewing of the game will tell you that.

Why do I need to grow up? I have my own opinions and you have yours, if anything your the one that needs to grow up and learn to take other peoples flak without getting in a rage.

Hey I was at the game too! I think the score should have been 5-1 Brazil and that Brazil played magnificently. USA just got lucky here and there…they didn’t impress me that much.
The energy was incredible, and it was worth the driving and terrible night sleep to see them play. I’d do it again in a second!
