How Nilmar and MSI Misled Lyon
By: Bruno Romani | July 3rd, 2007Juca Kfouri, one of the most credible Brazilian journalists, revealed on his blog the plan Kia Joorabchian and the shady MSI had to mislead Lyon into passing the player to Corinthians without getting the due amount of money. The dirty move was done with Nilmar’s consent.
According to Kfouri, a credible undisclosed source of his who is a Corinthians official heard in London from Joorabchian the plan. The deal between the Iranian and Lyon determined that a U$ 2 million payment was required for the lending of the forward and another U$8 million for a definitive transfer.
But Joorabchian wanted to keep the player without paying for it.
In order to do that, Joorabchian got help from a Lyon official who signed a document confirming the official transfer before any money was received. Next, the head of the MSI got the help from a FIFA employee, who did all the paper work making the illegal transfer become “legal.” The last step was to communicate Nilmar and his agent.
Joorabchian granted them, without explaining much his plan, U$ 1,8 million in exchange for their silence. This way, Nilmar signed a deal with MSI in which he knew his transfer was going to happen without the due money.
Things started to go wrong when Lyon’s owner decided to take the case to FIFA, and MSI claimed it had not bought the player at the same time Corinthians’ lawyers struggled to keep Nilmar.
Not even Alberto Dualib, criticized president of Corinthians, knew the plan to its full extent. Without knowing it, he frustrated MSI by claiming at the FIFA court that the striker belonged to his club, doing the opposite of what was agreed inside FIFA about the fraudulent transfer. This “mistake” gave Lyon the arguments it needed to build upon its defense in the case.

Thats lame if they dont see their money. They got robbed, and thats a load of shit. Nilmar looks like his career is almost over unless his knee is ever healthy again, but a deal is a deal.
