Oldest Player to Score, Oldest Player to Have a Transfer

Pedro Lima, the oldest player to score as a professional , is back on the news.

The 58 year-old defensive midfielder is making his first professional move. He will play for Leonel, a second division side from Paraíba state. He was involved in the deal that took Leonel’s forwards Tony Pai and Nego Fumaça to Perilima, seu Pedro ex-team.

Two things about the transfer, however, worried seu Pedro. He did not want hurt the feelings of Perilima fans, and he wasn’t sure if he was going to be in Leonel’s starting line-up. After putting some thought on the matter, he decided for the transfer. He justified it: “It will be important for my resume.”
