Romario Scores Goal 1000!

Romario has just scored from the spot his 1000th (according to him) goal.

the goal happened at Sao januario in the match between Vasco and Sport for the second round of the Brasileirao. As expected, lots of people and reporters were on pitch (very carioca this!)

The game stopped, he is crying a lot and he announced his retirement.

 Update: The retirement thing he said will happen this year, but didn’t say when. Later in interviews, he suggested he will still play more games for Vasco in the Brasileiro. The thing above i wrote soon as he scored.

  Congrats to Romario..shame he announced his retirement straight after scoring the 1000th goal shud had let it sink in first

  A great acheivement…yet I still do think it is a little ridiculous to count friendlies and testimonial goals. Maybe if he counted goals scored in training he could have retired a few years back.

  And again I reiterate, it’s still a great acheivement.
