Romario Scores Goal 1000!
By: Bruno Romani | May 20th, 2007Romario has just scored from the spot his 1000th (according to him) goal.
the goal happened at Sao januario in the match between Vasco and Sport for the second round of the Brasileirao. As expected, lots of people and reporters were on pitch (very carioca this!)
The game stopped, he is crying a lot and he announced his retirement.
Update: The retirement thing he said will happen this year, but didn’t say when. Later in interviews, he suggested he will still play more games for Vasco in the Brasileiro. The thing above i wrote soon as he scored.

Maybe he should rethink that retirement thing.
Miami FC is pretty bad without him.

A great acheivement…yet I still do think it is a little ridiculous to count friendlies and testimonial goals. Maybe if he counted goals scored in training he could have retired a few years back.
And again I reiterate, it’s still a great acheivement.
