Adriano Scores Twice in his Return
By: Bruno Romani | January 17th, 2008The Paulista Championship started tonight for the big clubs from São Paulo. The man of the night was Adriano, who debuted for São Paulo in his return to Brazilian football. The Brazilian champs visited Guaratinguetá and had a hard time to develop its game. The locals opened the score board in a mistake by Rogério Ceni. But then Adriano decided to play. He was the most incisive player for the visitors, searching for the ball and creating chances. In the second-half, he scored before the second minute from a long-range shot. With 15 minutes left, Adriano took a free-kick and scored again! He is back!

Palmeiras

Palmeiras started really well too. Like Adriano, its new striker, Alex Mineiro, scored twice, helping Palmeiras to build a solid 3-1 against Sertãozinho. Willian scored the other goal.
Corinthians
report soon!
Santos
Santos visited Portuguesa on Wednesday night. And football emulates life. In 2006, Santos had a 2-0 victory against Portuguesa, which sent the team to the second division of the Paulista league. Last night, Portuguesa returned to the first division against Santos and gave back a 2-0 victory. Santos showed a weak team whereas Portuguesa seems to have returned to its better days, when it was considered a big club. Christian and Marcelo scored for Portuguesa. Coach Leão will have tons of work to do.

All right Adriano! I’m happy he’s back and seems to care again. Let’s hope for the Tricolor that he keeps it up.
