Adriano Wakes Up and Saves São Paulo in the Copa Libertadores

It was the night of Emperor. After all the polemics of last week which resulted in a fee equals to 40% of his salary and a private war against the press, Adriano finally did what he was hired for. He saved São Paulo in a match of Copa Libertadores.
From the beginning it was clear that the night was going to be different. Coach Muricy Ramalho felt the same, he said after the match. São Paulo was much superior than Audax Italiano from Chile and Adriano participated more than usual. When chances started to appear, Adriano was there. And he went crazy with the ones that did not turn into goals.
The second-half started the same way. Or almost. Audax created two chances, enough to open the score and throw shivers at São Paulo fans. Villanueva scored. The locals, however, did not stop. Pressure started to increase and one of Audax’s defenders was sent-off after making a foul in Adriano. A few minutes later, in the 29th mark, Jorge Wagner crossed the ball to reach Adriano who tied the game and celebrated in a explosive way, as if saying “yes, I still can do it.”
10 minutes later, Hernanes shot and the rebound found Adriano alone just to push the ball and comeback for São Paulo. The celebration was another mix relief and revenge. For São Paulo fans, the feeling of relief was bigger than Morumbi and the headlines expected for the day after.
