Copa Libertadores 08 Lesson # 1

By: Bruno Romani | March 7th, 2008

Hitting the Ballboy won’t help you to win the Cup. Flamengo learned this lesson last night. Nacional from Uruguay beat the Brazilians 3-0. When the match was 1-0 for the locals, midfielder Toró pushed the 13 year-old ball guy and got sent-off. In the second-half, Leonardo Moura commited a violent foul and was red carded too. Against nine players, it was easy for Nacional to beat Flamengo.

In a week of good results for brazil in the Copa Libertadores, Flamengo was the only one to lose. On Tuesday, Cruzeiro beat Caracas from Venezuela 3-0, Santos beat Chivas from Mexico 1-0, Fluminense humiliated Arsenal from Argentina 6-0 and Sao Paulo beat Audax from Chile.
