Finally: Adriano Scores at Home

Â
After last Sunday’s referee found a foul in his header, Adriano scored at Morumbi a goal that resembled a lot the one from the weekend. But this time the referee allowed it, and São Paulo beat Rio Claro 3-1. It was the first goal of Adriano at Morumbi, São Paulo’s stadium. Rio Claro, with a young defender named Ricardo Rocha  son of the defender who made history in the national team , on pitch made it very difficult for São Paulo. The other two goals, which came late in the second-half, were scored by Jorge Wagner, ex- Betis, and Hernanes, who recently got called for the national team. After the game, rumors that Lyon’s Fred is on its way to São Paulo were reported by the press. That makes São Paulo the most famous rehab (understand it as you please) in Brazil, serving as a shelter for Adriano, Weder Bremen’s Carlos Alberto and Lyon’s Fabio Santos. Highlights of this match:

Like São Paulo, the biggest clubs in the city are having a hard time against small clubs. On the night Diego Souza, its biggest transfer of the year, debuted, Palmeiras lost for Ituano 1-0 (And what a nice goal  by Felipe using his heel). Likewise, Corinthians just tied 0-0 with Sertãozinho, who controlled the actions but stopped on the hands of Felipe. Ponte Preta still is the leader, but tonight it lost 3-1 against Bragantino and sees São Paulo, only club that didn’t lost in the Paulista Championship, just one point away.
Carioca
I’m gonna develop on Rio’s state championship only when something unusual happens. Tonight the same: the four big clubs won. Flamengo 1 – 0 Macaé, Botafogo 6-2 Mesquita, Vasco 5 – 2 Resende. Fluminense won yesterday: Fluminense 5 – 1 Volta Redonda.
