Flamengo Introduces its Fans to Cienciano

By: Bruno Romani | February 28th, 2008

Marcinho - Flamengo - Copa Libertadores

2 Brazilian clubs played yesterday for Copa Libertadores. In Rio, Cienciano from Peru met Flamengo fans after its coach said he knew nothing about the red and black mass. Cienciano played with its 11 players on the defense just waiting for the right moment to counter-attack. However, they let Souza alone to score 1-0 on the first-half. Before the first-half was over, goalie Bruno found himself undecided about stopping a cross and Cienciano took the chance to tie the match. In the second-half, it seemed that the draw was the only possible result. Both sides were lazy. Then, Cienciano found another counter-attack and scored. But the ref saw an offside which did not exist. Poor Cienciano. In the stoppage time, once again, Flamengo scored the second goal. The first three points of the rubronegro.

Miranda/ Sao Paulo - Copa Libertadores

3 times champs Sao Paulo debuted in Copa Libertadores against Nacional Medellin in Colombia. The match barely started and the locals scored through Cordoba, a man who resembles a lot side-back Robertos Carlos. After the goal, Nacional controlled the midfield and it seemed that a second goal was just a matter of time. But things started to change. Richarlysson hit the post and the tricolor woke up. Jorge Wagner took a free-kick and crossed for Miranda to tie the match. Sao Paulo had a few more chances, and that was it. Both clubs were satisfied with the draw. In the second-half, Rogerio Ceni was forced to save only one ball whereas Nacional’s goallie just watched the match. How was Adriano’s first appearance in Copa Libertadores? Poor.
