

Palmeiras Remains in 1st

São Paulo won again by beating Ipatinga 3-1. And Palmeiras started losing against Atlético-MG with a goal by Renan Oliveira. Problems for the leader? No! The club striker Alex Mineiro and veteran Denilson to keep the first place untouched. Alex passed to Leandro tie the match in the first-half. In the second-half, Denilson passed to Alex to comeback 2-1. At the end of the match, Denilson took the rebound to give final numbers. Palmeiras has 53 points. Grêmio 53. Cruzeiro 49. Flamengo 49. São Paulo 49. These are the 5 clubs who will fight in the last 10 matches of the league.
In the bottom, Vasco and Fluminense hold the last two positions. Vasco was visited by Figueirense and was humiliated again: 4-2. Fluminense just tied for Goiás 1-1. Ipatinga and Portuguesa are the other two clubs in the relegation zone. Portuguesa was beaten by Vitória 3-1.
Santos played really well and left the relegation struggle for the past. The club beat Atlético-PR 4-0. Paraguayan Cuevas scored a beautiful goal with just one minute into the match.
Inter also left a fight for the past. By losing 4-2 against Coritiba, the club seems to be putting a lot of effort into thrashing every possible chance for the title. Goalie Clemer again allowed goals that force fans to think that retirement is not a bad a idea.
