Proud to be Brazilian, Fluminense Humiliates Arsenal from Argentina
By: Bruno Romani | March 6th, 2008
It was the best international match of the history of Fluminense. And it was against an Argentinean club, which makes it even better. Arsenal, the club who dared to win last year’s Copa Sulamericana, visited Maracanã and watched an avalanche of beautiful goals, 3 in each half just to make it balanced. Dodô, the striker of beautiful goals was the man of the match.
With just 14 minutes, he was stopped with a foul. Thiago Neves took the free-kick and started the party. 10 minutes later, Júnior César crossed the ball and Dodô finished with a beautiful volley. In the 44th mark, Dodô dribbled half of Arsenal’s defense and passed to Gabriel push to the back of the net with a gentle touch.
The second-half came and Dodô received a pass just to get a long-range shot and score another beautiful goal. The Argentineans were already lost, but there was more to come. Washington, the Brazilian brave-heart, received a pass from Dodô and scored the 5th goal. With 5 minutes left, Cícero left the bench to take another free-kick got by Dodô. Another beautiful goal. Needless to say that the fans went crazy. And they have a reason for that. If Fluminense keeps playing like this, it is a super favorite to win Copa Libertadores.
