Referees Help Clubs from Porto Alegre
By: Bruno Romani | August 26th, 2007Referees took the Saturday to help the big sides from Porto Alegre. In Rio, Fluminense had the lead and played better than Grêmio. With 14 minutes, the locals opened the score through Thiago Silva. Nine minutes later, Grêmio had its biggest chance in the game with a penalty-kick taken by Marcel. But the recently hired striker fired it in the hands of Fernando Henrique. Marcel, however, was in the play that referee Paulo César de Oliveira decided to give a hand. Or actually, he decided that Marcel’s hand touching the ball before Patricio scored was ok. After the visitors tied, only 2 minutes were left. Too late for reactions.
In Porto Alegre, Inter got a little help from Mr. Luis Antônio Silva Santos and kept Atlético-PR close to the relegation zone. Atlético had the debut of coach Ney Franco, but he could not do much after Wellington fell outside the box, and the referee decided it was a penalty. Alex took it a sealed the victory of the Colorado.

NO Bruno, Gremio was way better than Fluminense. Saja, besides the goal that suffered didn’t work much on the match. However, Fernando Henrique had a busy afternoon on Saturday trying to avoid the kicks from Kelly, Marcel…
Go GRÊMIO!!!
